Welcome to Southwark libraries
Would you like free DVD rentals for the whole of 2009?
With the reader reward card all you have to do is borrow items on six different visits and on the sixth visit you get to borrow any DVD, for a week, for free. If you wanted to, you could pop in to the library every day to borrow items and in a year you could have borrowed nearly 60 DVDs for absolutely nothing.
There's no catch. All we ask is that you genuinely borrow and return items on different days, ie you can't just borrow an item and give it straight back to us, and that you make sure that you return your free DVD rentals on time as the usual overdue charges apply to all rentals, including free ones. If you think that this sounds like a good deal why not drop into you nearest Southwark library, pick up your reader reward card and get borrowing.

Write stuff! Creative writing workshops at Dulwich library
Have you ever wanted to put pen to paper, but had no idea where to begin? Or have you begun to write and then got stuck along the way? Come along to a series of creative writing workshops at Dulwich library, which will look at different aspects of the writing process in a friendly and creative environment. Support and guidance comes from professional storyteller and writer Sandra Agard. Sandra is currently touring with her play “Treasures of the Rain Forest” a children’s fantasy with acclaimed flautist Keith Waithe. Other written work includes “Abena’s Stupidest Mistake”, produced by Talawa Theatre Company and “Unheard Voices” edited by Malorie Blackman.
This free course begins on Thursday July 2 2009, 2pm to 4pm and sessions will be held once a fortnight after that until Thursday October 8 2009. The sessions will cover poetry writing, short story writing and will include one-to-one writers' surgeries. We are happy to accept people who may want to attend selected sessions rather than the entire course. For more information and to register please contact Sandra Agard on 07958133823.
