Free business broadband for local organisations

We are looking for 10 local voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) organisations who can support digital inclusion. 

In return you will get Virgin Media Business Broadband, free of charge, for 5 years from installation.

How to apply for this offer

To apply for the offer, fill in the Virgin Media expression of interest form.

To be considered, you must be able to receive Virgin Media services at your premises. Check if Virgin Media broadband services are available in your area by typing your postcode into the Virgin Media online checker. 

If you receive the message 'Keep me posted - it looks like we’re currently unavailable at your postcode’ then you are not currently eligible for this offer.

You must also be a registered charity with a charity number or a Community Interest Company (CIC). 
If you operate as a CIC, by law, your memorandum and articles of association must include a not-for-profit ‘asset lock’ clause.

Applications close on Friday 27 December 2024.

How applications will be assessed

All eligible applications will be reviewed by a selection panel against the following criteria:

• a clear plan for how your organisation intends to use internet connectivity to support individuals with access to the internet, devices and skills to engage in the digital world
• an agreement to registering with the Good Things Foundation to access free sim cards, devices, and grant opportunities. Evidence of how your organisation will use this to benefit individuals in your communities to be digitally included

The panel's decision will be communicated in the week commencing 6 January 2025.

Existing Virgin Media customers

If you are an existing Virgin Media customer receiving broadband services, you can still apply for this offer.

However, if you are successful, you must wait until your current contract ends before the new service is installed. This offer does not include a phone line.
