Voter ID

You must show an approved form of photo ID on voting day.

This applies to anyone voting at:

• local elections 
• Greater London Authority elections
• UK Parliamentary by-elections 
• UK Parliamentary general elections

Only original documents are acceptable. Expired photo IDs are allowed as long as the photograph is still a good likeness of you.

If the name on your photo ID document is different from your name on the electoral register, you also need to bring a marriage certificate or deed poll certificate.
