Advertising policy

Find out about Southwark Council's approach to advertising high fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) products in the borough.

As part of Southwark Council’s approach to reducing childhood obesity, the advertising of high fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) products in the borough has been banned on council-owned advertising sites.

This action builds on Transport for London’s (TfL) junk food ban that was introduced across the whole TfL estate in February 2019.

Southwark’s advertising policy also includes the UK’s Code of Broadcasting Advertising section on Prohibited Categories and alcoholic drinks, to further support the overall health and wellbeing of Southwark’s residents.
