Free childcare if you're working

The free childcare can be taken over no more than 10 hours per day, between the hours of 6am to 8pm.

You can use your free childcare at any Southwark approved childcare provider. 

These can be:

• day nurseries
• preschools
• childminders
• independent schools
• nursery classes in primary schools

If you want your child to go to a provider outside of Southwark, your chosen provider will claim the cost of your free place from their local authority.
