If you're aged 14 to 18 and want to make an impact in Southwark you can join the Southwark Youth Parliament.

It will give you the opportunity to:

  • voice your opinions
  • collaborate on initiatives
  • shape the future of the borough

Local decision-making

The parliament's goal is to make your voices heard. It wants to make sure you're involved in local decision-making.

It does this through:

  • debates which allow its members to engage in lively discussions
  • community initiatives and projects
  • representing the needs and aspirations of young people

All members of the parliament are elected. Some members take on leadership roles to coordinate activities and make decisions. 

Different cabinets

There are five cabinets that focus on:

  • careers and employability
  • the environment
  • mental health
  • tackling poverty
  • youth violence

These cabinets allow members to look more deeply at specific topics and propose initiatives.

You may care about social justice, education, the environment, or any other vital topic. Your voice matters here.
