Family Early Help service
Our Family Early Help service provides one-to-one support to families facing difficult periods and challenges in their lives. They work in partnership with families, schools and a range of services. Their aim is to help keep families strong.

Children and family centres
Southwark children and family centres are here to support you with the everyday challenges of parenting.
Strengthening Families programme with the NEST
For adults responsible for a young person aged 11 to 24. The programme can help you if you are unsure about:
- what options there are for a young person struggling at school
- where your young person can get support with their education
- what the terms internal exclusion, fixed-term exclusion and permanent exclusion mean
- what services are available to you and your family in the local community
The programme provides:
- monthly workshops for parents and carers
- weekly 1 to 1 sessions with a therapeutic practitioner
- sharing information about services, education, the exclusion system, mental health and wellbeing with other parents
- whole family support for young people at risk of exclusion or who have received fixed term exclusions or a managed move
Other local groups
Parent Action Southwark run a weekly calendar of activities where families can spend time together in a safe environment.
Little Village Southwark pass on pre-loved clothes, toys and equipment from one family to another.
Home-Start Southwark gives emotional and practical support to families having difficulties with parenting.
Citizens advice Southwark offer free, confidential advice on money, housing, legal issues, and more.
