Funding and grants for arts and cultural projects

Applying for a grant or funding may not be the only way to raise money for your arts or cultural project or event.  

You could:

• charge for tickets, classes, food, merchandise, beverages or hire of your premises
• check if any of your activities are transferable - if you provide free or reduced activities for community groups could these activities interest the corporate sector?
• crowdsourcing, for example Crowd Funder and Kickstarter
• Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy provide training and information on raising money through philanthropy
• Know How Non-Profit is the National Council for Voluntary Organisations’ (NCVO) knowledge bank, with useful advice on different types of fundraising
• The Chartered Institute of Fundraising is the professional membership body for UK fundraising, offering good practice guidance on how to do it
