Our libraries provide a range of support for families with children who have additional needs.
We offer children's books in a range of formats, including:

- large print
- high-interest low reading level books from Barrington Stoke

Bookstart baby packs
Every child in England and Wales is entitled to a free Bookstart pack for ages 0-12 months. before they are 12 months old.
Bookstart gives additional needs packs for babies and toddlers, as well as dual-language books.

Assistive technology
All of our libraries offer computers that are free to use.
Each computer has Dolphin Supernova installed on it, which allows screen magnification and audio assistance for visually impaired children.
Ask a member of staff if you need a large mouse or large keyboard.

Events
Bag Books Storytelling Sessions are designed for children with special needs.
The sessions provide multi-sensory books and storytelling for people with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities.
The stories are told through voice and emotion rather than words and pictures.
