Publish or re-use material
How to ask for permission to publish images or documents from the archives
If you want to publish or re-use any of the documents in Southwark Archives, you’ll need to follow our guidelines.
If you make copies or photos in the searchroom, they must be for your own research only.
Publishing them is a breach of copyright law.
‘Publishing’ usually means:
- using copies of our documents in another work
- putting our documents online
Many of the documents in our collections are not in Southwark Council’s copyright.
