If you're interested in paid work or need support getting into your career of choice, you can find help and information:
- Southwark Works – free employment support service for residents of all ages, experiences and backgrounds that offers one-to-one support to help find a new job or a better job
- Southwark care leavers – support for young people leaving care, who may be thinking about education, employment and training opportunities
- support for young people with special education needs (SEN): Southwark local offer – information on a range of services for young people with SEN, including training
- Southwark Construction Skills Centre (SCSC) – support into roles in the construction sector, including apprenticeships
- Step up to social work programme for graduates – an intensive, 14 month, full-time programme for trainee social workers with hands-on practitioner experience and academic learning
- Milkround – student and graduate career resource, with hundreds of internships, placements, graduate jobs and schemes to apply for
Help with clothes for interviews
If you need to get appropriate clothes for a job interview but cannot afford to buy them, help is available:
- Suited and Booted – speak to your job coach, or other services you may be receiving help from, about accessing Suited and Booted. This offers advice and clothing for men who are unemployed, on low-income or vulnerable and have an interview
- Dress for Success – speak to your job coach, or other services you may be receiving help from, to get nearly-new women’s clothing for a job interview and to get email alerts with job vacancies and career information
