Our English courses range from basic literacy for beginners to Functional English at Level 2.
Would you like to be more confident with your literacy skills? Are you trying to improve your skills to gain access to further study or gain qualifications to improve your career prospects? Or you may wish to increase your confidence in using English in daily life.
Our courses range from basic literacy for beginners to Functional English at Level 2 and include:
These courses will update your skills level, with a theoretical and practical application for the world of work and further study.
You will be supported to develop the skills that employers require. You will have the opportunity to gain a recognised City and Guilds’ qualification that will improve your job or future study prospects in a highly changing market.
To enrol on one of our courses you must attend a skills consultation to check your current level of skills and knowledge.

Literacy and English skills consultations are held on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3.30pm at the Thomas Calton Centre. We will help to place you on the right course for your level.
