Your offer of a school place

What to do when you get an offer of a school place.

You'll receive an email from eAdmissions to confirm your child’s offer of a school place.

The email will tell you what to do next.

If you do not receive this email, check your junk mail folder. If you still have not received the email, contact our school admissions team: schools.admissions@southwark.gov.uk.

You'll also be able to find out the outcome of your application by logging into the eAdmissions website.

You’ll need your user name and password.

We do not give application results over the phone.

You do not need to do anything more if you want to accept the school place offered to your child.

Their details will be forwarded to the allocated school.

What happens next

The offer of a school place is conditional until the school confirms your address.

You’ll need to provide these original documents to the school:

  • proof of child benefit
  • if you're not eligible for child benefit, a letter from HMRC confirming you used to get child benefit
  • a Council Tax bill
  • one other proof of address, like a bank statement

If we or an admission authority has reason to suspect that a family does not live at the address stated on the application, we'll carry out an investigation. If we discover that a parent is making a fraudulent claim, the offer of a place will be withdrawn.

The school place will remain available unless you tell us about any other suitable alternative arrangement for education that has been made for your child. If this is the case, let the school admissions team know by email, including your unique application reference, so that another child can be offered the place.

If you do not want to accept the offer

If you do not want to accept the offer of the place allocated to your child, let the school admissions team know.

Email: schools.admissions@southwark.gov.uk.

Remember to include your unique application reference number.

Waiting lists

We may be able to offer your child a place from a waiting list at one of your preferred schools.

If we can, we will contact you immediately.

If you've accepted a place at an independent fee-paying school, let the school admissions team know.

We can then update our records and offer the place to the next child on the waiting list.
