Positive Futures for Young People Fund

Funding for services that support, educate and inspire young LGBT+ persons and those around them.

Overview

The Positive Futures for Young People Fund supports youth services to provide open access services to young people, aged 11–19 and up to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We provide funding to 20 organisations which offer both universal and targeted services throughout Southwark.

Who can apply for the fund

We want to recommission for 2 grants to replace the voluntary sector organisations who cannot fulfil their grant conditions for the financial year 2026-27.

As these are replacements for existing services, the funding is available for:

  • Project 1: to provide open-access youth work programming for local young people in Walworth Neighbourhood Ward (North Walworth, Newington and Faraday wards).
  • Project 2: to provide girls' specific provision, including sports, aiming to involve under-represented groups in physical activities across Camberwell and Peckham Neighbourhood Wards (Camberwell Green, St Giles, Peckham and Rye Lane wards).

Only applicants who can fulfil this brief will be considered for this funding.

How the fund works

The grants are for 1 year from Wednesday 1 April 2026 to Wednesday 31 March 2027. Each project will receive up to £30,000. The work should be carried out regularly throughout the year, including during school holidays, with a focus on the Easter and Summer breaks.

Applicants must secure their own suitable premises for programme delivery and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation. This must be in place prior to delivery.

To apply for this fund, organisations must have:

  • a memorandum and articles of association or constitution
  • be able to provide 2 years of audited accounts
