We work with our partners in Southwark to create diverse musical opportunities for children and young people living and learning in Southwark.
Our vibrant Saturday Music Centre at St. Saviour’s and St. Olaves incorporates the:

Saturday Music Centre
We offer a large variety of instrumental lessons for pupils from school year three and above who live or go to school in Southwark. You can find out more about us online at Saturday Music Centre.
Students will get a combination of instrumental, ensemble, choir, percussion and theory lessons.
The Saturday Music Centre provides students with a broad music education that will:

enhance their enjoyment and appreciation of music

instil a greater understanding of music making in different contexts

enable children to play with confidence in different settings
-
increase pupils’ musical skills
When ready and by agreement with your child’s tutor, students can be entered for public examinations, currently provided by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College London.
What is expected
Your child does not need experience to attend the Saturday Centre.
Pupils must commit to attending regularly and practice between lessons.

Students have the opportunity to participate in ensembles at the Saturday Centre.
They can also study:
- Gamelan
- Samba
- African drumming

How to apply
There is a waiting list. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and depends on availability of instruments.
We do not accept applications for children who are not yet in year two or after your child has entered year eight.
