If your child is entitled to a free school lunch each day, you may be able to help your child's school raise money.

If your child is entitled to a free school lunch each day, you may be able to help your child's school raise money towards the cost of learning resources, activities or teaching staff. 

The money comes from a government fund.

Your child’s school will get additional government funding for each eligible child via the Pupil Premium

Benefits

To be eligible, you must receive one of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190

If you’re eligible, contact your child's school to request a pupil premium application form. 

Fill in the form and give it back to the school directly.
