We have a legal duty to protect public funds. We check every application and all documentation to make sure it's genuine.
If you knowingly make false statements or misrepresentations in the purchase of your home, you may be prosecuted.
This means any information you provide when you apply may be shared with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds.
You must sign an anti-money laundering form when you apply. This protects us against any potential financial criminal activity.
You also have a duty to update us with any changes to the financing of your purchase, such as a change in mortgage provider.
How we use your data
The information you give us may be used:
- to process and make a decision on your Home Purchase Grant scheme application
- for fraud prevention
- for audit purposes
- for statistical analysis
- to complete credit checks
- to ensure compliance with the law
Data sharing
We may share your information with external organisations, like solicitors, banks and credit reference agencies.
Your personal information will only be used for these purposes.
It will be destroyed after 12 years from when your application was completed or closed.
