If your landlord tells you to leave
If your landlord, or their managing agent, has asked you to leave their property, we may be able to help.
If your landlord, or their managing agent, has asked you to leave their property, we may be able to help.
We want to do everything we can to help sort any problems out and to make sure you do not become homeless.
If a landlord or agent wants you to leave they should give you a section 21 notice. A section 21 notice ends your tenancy.
First, you should try and solve the problem with your landlord or managing agent.
You do not need to try and solve the problem yourself if you’re vulnerable, or would find it difficult.
Do not try to deal with it yourself if the landlord or agent has:
- harassed you
- threatened you with violence
If you tried to talk to your landlord or agent and it did not work, we can:
- arrange an appointment to call you
- arrange an interview with a housing options officer
We’ll make an appointment with you to find out:
-
more about the situation and how we can help
-
if we'll considered it as a homeless application
