Our programme provides housing-related support to help vulnerable residents live independently.

The supporting people programme provides housing-related support to help vulnerable residents live independently at home and within the community.

The programme is for those who:

  • are older with support needs 
  • are elderly and frail
  • have mental health problems
  • have learning disabilities
  • have a physical or sensory disability
  • are single and homeless with support needs
  • are offenders or are at risk of offending
  • are young and at risk and care leavers
  • are women at risk of domestic violence
  • are living with HIV
  • are homeless families with support needs

The programme will only pay for housing-related support that helps people live independently. 

It does not pay for care services. 

You need to be referred by one of the following:

  • social worker
  • GP
  • voluntary organisations
  • resident service officer
