Bereavement support service

In addition to grieving, you'll have to make many arrangements and tell many organisations, which can be confusing and distressing.

Our bereavement support service helps you:

• notify local and central government teams about the death
• access a range of relevant services
• get benefits and money that you may be entitled to

The registrar will explain the 'Tell Us Once' service when registering the death.

You must use the service within 28 days of getting a unique reference number from the registrar. 

A video relay service is available for British sign language users. Relay UK is available if you cannot hear or speak on the phone.
