Southwark Council would like to congratulate everyone collecting their GCSE and BTEC results yesterday (22 August).
Early indications from schools in Southwark suggest 2024 is going to be a positive year for results, with many schools reporting a strong set of grades similar to last year.
Cllr Jasmine Ali, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: “Congratulations to all our GCSE and BTEC students, as well as your teachers who worked so hard to set you up for success. You should be so proud of your achievements, especially as you had only just started secondary school when the pandemic hit. Every one of you, your families and your school communities have shown such resilience throughout.
“You will now be thinking about how to get to where you want to be, whether that’s studying for A-levels or another route into further education. There are lots of local opportunities to help you achieve your goals.
