The Southwark Pride fund supports our LGBTQI+ communities to create events that celebrate:
- lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and queer identity
- the culture, histories and rights of these communities
Events must take place in Southwark from Pride Month in June to the end of August and applications open on Monday 3 February 2025 and close on Tuesday 4 March at 9am. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of April.
The timing couldn’t be more apt as February is also LGBT+ History Month.
Cllr Stephanie Cryan, Cabinet Member for Equalities, Democracy and Finance, said: “I am delighted to be able to offer this funding for a second year and show our commitment to supporting our LGBTQI+ community. Southwark ranked as fourth highest local authority in England for LGB+ identity, and even this is likely to be an underestimate due to ongoing stigma.
“Last year’s events were amazing and varied, and very well attended, which shows the incredible support people give our LGBTQI+ residents and organisations.”
