Exemptions for Blue Badge holders

You do not have to pay the London congestion charge if you are a Blue Badge holder. 

You should apply at least 10 days before your journey. 

There's a one-time £10 registration fee.

If you have a Southwark Blue Badge and are an AD permit holder, you can sign-up to avoid the camera-enforced Streetspace rules in Southwark for free. 

Streetspace measures aim to make your local streets safer. They also aim to cut air pollution and get more people walking and cycling. But Blue Badge holders may find it harder to walk or cycle. This exemption lets you move around more easily while still keeping Streetspace measures in place for everyone else.

To qualify for a free Southwark Streetspace exemption, you must:

• have a valid Blue Badge, issued by Southwark Council
• identify a vehicle to be registered (your own or a carer’s vehicle)

We will contact you and ask for:

• proof of your address
• your car registration number
• a copy of your Blue Badge

We will confirm the Blue Badge exemption by email. Streetspace restrictions must be followed until you get our email confirmation.

Exemptions are usually issued within a working day. This is from the point at which all the above info and correct documents are presented.

Exemptions will last for a year. Holders will be notified by email in good time to reapply.

• Burbage Road junction with Gallery Road (North Westbound)
• Burbage Road junction with Turney Road (North Westbound)
• Carter Street junction with Penrose Street
• Cooks Road junction with Otto Street
• Derwent Grove junction with Grove Vale
• Dulwich Village (Northbound) towards Pickwick Road
• Goldsmith Road junction with Meeting House Lane
• Havil Street (South of Southampton Way)
• Larcom Street junction with Ethel Street
• Manor Place junction with Braganza Street
• Merrow Street junction with Lytham Street
• Penton Place junction with Kennington Park Road
• Rye Lane junction with Blenheim Grove
• Rye Lane junction with Hanover Park
• Rye Lane junction with Heaton Road (Northbound)
• Townley Road junction with Calton Avenue (Northbound)
• Turney Road junction with Burbage Road (North Eastbound)
• Westmoreland Road junction with Queen's Row

Exemptions do not apply at the junctions of Calton Avenue and Court Lane with Dulwich Village.
