Resident - informal carer parking permit

If you're a carer providing primary care to a Southwark resident, you can apply for a permit to park in the controlled parking zone.

You can apply for a permit if you are caring for a resident within one of Southwark's controlled parking zones (CPZs)

Personal carer parking permits are for the sole use of the cared-for person’s carer (family or friend).

As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide a letter from the cared-for person’s GP confirming that you are their carer. Carers do not need to live in Southwark.

Some new and converted properties have planning restrictions that make them car-free. You cannot purchase this permit if the cared-for person resides in one of these properties unless they have a disabled badge.

Where can I use the permit?

The permits are valid in resident bays and resident shared-use bays within the CPZ where the cared-for person lives. To find where to park, view our controlled parking zone map.

This application is for on-street CPZs only and is not valid within our housing estates.

Permit costs

 A 12-month permit costs £75.
