It's illegal to obstruct public roads, footpaths and pavements. We’ll prosecute anyone who deliberately causes an obstruction without permission or a good reason.
Examples of obstructions include:
- builders' skips
- piles of bricks, sand or concrete
- road works safety barriers that have fallen over
- scaffolding or hoardings
- unauthorised signs
- items from shops displayed on the pavement without authorisation
- tables and chairs from pubs, cafes and restaurants
- abandoned or illegally parked vehicles
