Report a dangerous structure
How to report a dangerous building or part of a building and what we need to know.
Report to us any structure that could endanger someone due to its condition. This includes buildings or parts of buildings (for example loose slates, tiles, garden walls, fences and hoardings).

Please tell us:
- the address that is a danger
- a description of what you consider to be dangerous and its location
- any information known about the site ownership or access
- your name and contact number so that we can advise you of the action taken (optional)
We must promptly make dangerous structures safe.
Buildings can become dangerous for many reasons. These include :
- settlement
- old age
- vehicle impact
- vandalism
- design defects
- fire
- explosion
- storm damage
We work closely with the police and London Fire Brigade. We also work with other emergency services. We work with government agencies like the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Environmental Agency. We do this to ensure buildings in Southwark are safe.
