Reduce business pollution
Here are some ways your business can help to improve air quality in Southwark:
- buy or hire the cleanest motor vehicles available and potentially get a plug-in car and van grant
- develop travel plans to encourage your employees to use public transport, walk or cycle
- organise eco-driving training for staff who rely on a vehicle as part of their job
- avoid operating in congested areas at peak times as often as possible
- install workplace energy efficiency measures
- sign up to TfL's Freight Operator Recognition Scheme
- ask the Carbon Trust to review the energy profile of your business
- get involved with a freight quality partnership or arrange for low emission deliveries and collections
- make sure your vehicles and plant meet the current requirements of the Low Emission Zone and Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)
Some businesses such as dry cleaners will need to apply for a pollution control (part B) permit.
