Noise levels
Environmental noise is usually measured in A-weighted decibels or dB(A). Noise produced over time is measured by the Equivalent Continuous Sound Pressure Level (Leq).
The limits for construction noise within a site boundary are:
- 70 dB(A) Leq (10 hours) Monday to Friday working day (8am to 6pm)
- 70 dB(A) Leq (5 hours) Saturday working day (9am to 2pm)
- 75 dB(A) Leq (15 minutes) at any time
