Our pottery studio has:
- 2 kilns
- hand building benches
- 4 types of clay
- earthenware and stoneware glazes
What you'll learn
You'll learn:
- hand-building techniques
- how to use slips and underglazes to colour and decorate work
- how to make pinch pots, tiles, coiled vessels, soft and hard slab vessels and moulded dishes
If you have some experience in throwing you'll have the opportunity to practice this.
How the course is taught
Courses are tutor-led with demonstrations and one-to-one support.
You're encouraged to support and learn from each other through group discussions on work in progress and finished work.
What to bring
You'll need a notebook and a pen.
After the course
On completion, you'll be able to progress on to pottery courses with other providers.
Former students have progressed to open-access studios, such as the Kiln Rooms in Peckham or Turning Earth in Haggerston.
