Choose from basic literacy for beginners to level 2 English.
Would you like to be more confident with your literacy skills?
You may want to improve your skills for further study, or gain qualifications to improve your career prospects.
We offer functional skills courses from pre-entry level to level 2.
You'll be supported to develop the skills that employers require.
You will also have the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds’ qualification to improve your job prospects in a highly changing market.
How to enrol
To enrol you will need to complete a skills assessment at Thomas Calton Centre.
This is to assess your skill level and knowledge to make sure you're placed on the right course. If you are between levels, we may offer you a bridging course before starting you on a qualification.
The next skills assessment will be held on Wednesday, 2 April from 10am to 2.30 pm at the Thomas Calton Centre, Alpha Street, SE15 4NX.
