Pilates beginners and improvers
This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience. Exercises are adapted to your level.
This course is suitable for all levels of fitness and experience.
You'll gain increased awareness of how the balance and control of the body can benefit other areas of your life.
What you’ll learn
You'll learn how to:
- set up your body for safe and effective exercise
- focus your mind on your body
- efficiently and effectively mobilise joints, strengthen muscles and increase flexibility
- adapt the level of challenge to suit your ability
You'll also be taught relaxation techniques.
How the course is taught
You'll exercise mostly on a mat.
The instructor will observe you to make sure you carry out exercises correctly and safely.
They will monitor health and safety.
What you'll need
You should wear comfortable stretchy clothes and bring a bottle of water.
After the course
You can enrol on one of our other fitness courses. You will have increased confidence to join classes in the community or in local leisure centres.
