Would you like to be more confident with your literacy skills?

You may want to improve your skills for further study, or gain qualifications to improve your career prospects.

Our literacy courses include:

• reading and writing, literacy for beginners
• bridge to functional English (entry 1)
• get ready for functional English (entry 2)
• get ready for functional English (entry 3)
• functional English (level 1)
• functional English (level 2)
• functional English online course (level 2)

You'll be supported to develop the skills employers require.

You will also have the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds’ qualification to improve your job prospects in a highly changing market.

How to enrol

To enrol you need to attend a skills check consultation. 

This is to assess your skill level and knowledge to make sure you're placed on the right course.

Consultations are held:

• on Wed from 1pm to 3.30pm 
• at the Thomas Calton Centre
