Who the course is for
Beginners or learners with a knowledge of working with clay who want to learn sculpting skills.
Course location
Thomas Calton Centre, Alpha Street, SE15 4NX.
What you'll learn
How to model clay, make sculptural work or figurative work, low relief modelling and tile making and how to use slips and underglazes to colour and decorate work. The work will be fired.
How the course is taught
Courses are tutor-led with demonstrations and one-to-one support. There will be opportunities for learners to support and learn from each other through group discussions on work in progress and finished work
Materials you'll need
A notebook and pen.
After the course
Further pottery courses at the Kiln Rooms, City Lit or Morley College.
You will have increased confidence in talking about your work and improved time management skills. Past learners have gone on to studio shares such as at the Kiln Rooms in Peckham or Turning Earth in Haggerston.
