Who the course is for
Adults from beginners to experienced who wish to develop their pottery skills in a well-equipped pottery studio.

What you’ll learn
If you're interested in handmade domestic ware or seeking an introduction to making pottery, this course will teach you how to create a selection of items including suitable types of tableware, drinking vessels and other items such as whiskey stones or fermentation crocks.
You will learn a range of hand-building techniques including pinch pots, coiled vessels, soft slab and hard slab vessels and moulded dishes. There is the option to do a limited amount of throwing. You will also learn how to use slips and underglazes to colour and decorate work.
How the course is taught
Courses are tutor-led with demonstrations and one-to-one support. Learners are encouraged to support and learn from each other through group discussions on work in progress and finished work.
Materials you'll need
A notebook and pen.
After the course
You can attend further pottery courses with other providers. Past learners have progressed onto open-access studios such as the Kiln Rooms in Peckham or Turning Earth in Haggerston.
