Description

Get creative, take part in workshops for families of different ages where you can explore the Tirzah Garwood: Beyond Ravilious exhibition through marbling, badgemaking, toy theatre and many more workshops. Kids go free! Across the day, explore play and collaborate as a family, experimenting with art and experimental techniques to create your own unique art pieces to take home.

The Museum of Memorable Trees

Be transported to a different time and place as you listen to tales of great trees that have woven themselves into people’s lives and memories.

Under 5s Explore: Creative Tales
Grounds & Gallery 11

Spark your child’s imagination through playful storytelling. Join Rosie Tells Tales for these playful interactive storytelling sessions for under 5s. Discover a world beyond a painting using songs, rhymes, Makaton signs, movement and making.



Earth Tenders
Grounds (drop in)

Earth Tenders will be holding space for communal seed sowing and seed exchange workshops.

Workshop 1: Sow Spring - Craft your own seed packs filled with seeds that nourish our pollinator friends, with messages to welcome the emergence of spring.

Workshop 2: Grow Your Own Microgreens - Join Earth Tenders to grow your own indoor, nutrient-dense microgreens and sprouts and learn the joys of this accessible cultivation practice.



Badge Making
Gallery 4 (drop in)

Design and create badges! There will be fabrics and materials to experiment with colours and shapes inspired by Tirzah Garwood’s love of the outdoors.



The Shape of Things
Gallery 2 (drop in)

In this workshop, children will learn how to create their own still life arrangements using simple shapes and layers, exploring the concepts of positive and negative space. It is a fantastic opportunity for young artists to get creative and learn about the art of still life in a hands-on way.



Paper Marbling
Art Studio

Delve deep into the magical work of Tirzah Garwood. You will play with shapes, texture, and mixed media to create your own unique prints inspired by the techniques and colours of Garwood's prints and paintings.

This workshop is first come first served with a room capacity of 25 participants. Please come early to avoid disappointment.
