Street parties

Overview

Street parties are a great opportunity to meet your neighbours. We encourage residents to hold them, so we don't charge any fees to close your road.

It's important that we make sure street parties are safe and legal, so you must apply for permission and read our guidance.

Make sure you upload a copy of your consultation letter with the application.

You must apply 6 weeks before the requested closure.

We will notify you in writing if the application is successful.

We cannot close:

roads on a bus route
major roads
roads that, if closed, would need significant diversion or a lot of traffic management equipment
