Rules about events in our parks

We welcome group activities in our parks, like playing informal games, picnics and simple gatherings.

But you’ll need permission to:

  • have a barbecue
  • sell goods or food and drink
  • put up structures like tents, marquees, staging, stalls or bouncy castles
  • use power generators
  • cook or prepare food
  • drive vehicles
  • block any area from the public

As a park user, you must pay attention to and follow the instructions of park wardens or other council officers.

Litter

As with any other area in Southwark, you’re expected to put litter in bins provided or take it away with you.

Individuals or groups who drop litter or fly-tip may receive a fixed penalty notice.
