Gas safety

If you smell gas:

• turn off the gas supply at the gas meter
• turn off or put out all naked flames 
• open all doors and windows
• call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 and follow advice given
• call 020 7525 2500 and we'll send out a gas engineer to check if your home is safe

Find out what you’ll get charged for calls.

If you can't turn off the gas or find your meter, leave your home and call 0800 111 999

Never do the following if you smell gas:

• do not smoke
• do not strike a match
• do not use a lighter
• do not turn lights or power switches on or off 
• do not use any electrical equipment
