We offer a one-off lump sum to eligible Southwark tenants to help them buy a home. Check eligibility and how to apply.

Eligibility
To be eligible you must have a secure tenancy for a minimum of 3 years (2 of those must be a tenancy with Southwark Council).
Your current home must have a minimum of 2 bedrooms.
You must not:
- be receiving Housing Benefit
- have arrears on rent, Council Tax or other accounts with us
- be bankrupt
- be guilty of recent anti-social behaviour
- have an active Right to Buy or Social HomeBuy application while applying for this grant
If you owe us any money you'll need to pay the outstanding amount before any of the grant can be paid to you.
This includes any:

rent arrears

overpaid Housing Benefit
-
rent from a previous tenancy

Council Tax or court costs
