How to buy the freehold

If you meet the qualifying criteria to purchase the freehold interest, you can proceed by using one of the following:

Statutory route

The formal legal process states that you must serve us a formal notice outlining your claim and your terms.

This process has strict time limits. We must respond within 2 months. 

We recommend you take professional advice when drafting this notice to avoid costly mistakes.

Voluntary scheme

Our voluntary process is more informal with no time limits. 

This scheme allows us to sell the freehold after leaseholders have bought the building's freehold in equal shares.
