Heating and hot water troubleshooting

If your central heating is leaking, turn off your heating and cold water stop tap to limit damage.

Then report the repair to book an engineer.

If you have an open vented system with a cistern in the loft the leak can take a while to stop.

The leak could be due to wear and tear, or a punctured pipe if you've carried out any DIY.

If the leak is not coming from the central heating, check where it's coming from. For example, check around the seal around the bath or roof.
