Tenant satisfaction measures

Tenant satisfaction survey results

We are committed to continually improving our housing service and ensuring tenant satisfaction. We recently conducted the Tenant Satisfaction Survey for 2023 and present the results here.

The survey was carried out by Acuity Research and Practice. It aimed to understand tenant satisfaction with the maintenance of their homes and the delivery of key services.

The report found that:

  • 56% of tenants are satisfied with the overall service we provide.
  • a majority of tenants, 65%, are happy with the cleanliness and maintenance of communal areas
  • 64% feel that we provide a safe home

Some positive feedback was received on our repairs service, with 63% satisfaction over the last 12 months.

62% believe we make a positive contribution to their neighbourhood.

62% of tenants are satisfied with the information they receive about matters that concern them.

However, we also recognise there are areas where we can improve. The survey indicated that we need to enhance our repairs service, customer services, and communication. We take this feedback seriously and are already working on strategies to address these concerns.

We value the voice of our tenants, and although only 46% feel their views are listened to and acted upon, we are dedicated to increasing this number. We are committed to treating all tenants fairly and with respect, a sentiment echoed by 63% of survey respondents.

Your feedback is instrumental in helping us improve and provide better services.

We thank you for your participation and look forward to working with you to make Southwark Council homes better places to live.
