Document handling rules
Help keep our unique and irreplaceable collections safe and usable for everyone:
- follow staff instructions on handling material
- ask staff for help if you are unsure what to do
- handle collection material with clean, dry hands
- have one document container open at a time
- keep items in the order you find them
- leave documents flat on the desk
- close books you are not using
- ask staff for slips to mark or follow text
- leave items on the desk when you are done with them
