The 3 different types of burial available are:

• a simplicity grave, which allows for a low-level ledger to be placed on the grave
• a lawn burial, so you can place an upright headstone only
• meadowland burial in an open leafy area where the grass is mowed only twice per year

With all 3 options, you need to purchase a lease.

All graves and memorials are subject to cemetery regulations. 

You'll buy the 'exclusive right of burial' for that particular grave for 25, 50 or 75 years. Southwark residents and non-residents can lease a grave within our cemeteries. Non-residents pay more. Find funeral expenses and charges. 

You'll usually lease a grave through a funeral director. Find a local funeral director. They'll include the cost in the final bill they give you.
