A School Street has restricted access for motorised vehicles at school drop-off and pick-up times.
The restrictions apply between certain hours depending on the school. These are displayed on street signs as you enter the road.
Some streets have cameras.
You will be fined if you drive without a School Streets permit during restricted times.
The scheme aims to:
- make families' journeys to school safe
- reduce pollution
- increase road safety
- encourage walking and cycling to school
- improve the environment for all
Unless you're exempt you need to apply for a resident parking permit.
If you're exempt you'll need to apply for the exemption.
