Parking bay suspension

We have parking bays where you pay to park your vehicle for a set amount of time. You can apply to have this time limit suspended so you can park in a bay for one or more days.

A suspended parking bay can be used for:

• reserving space for a removal van or skip delivery
• loading or unloading
• building works or the delivery of materials
• weddings and funerals
• filming

You must give us seven days notice. Emergency suspensions for work such as repairing gas leaks are the only exception.

When parking bays are suspended, a yellow warning notice is put on the nearest sign five days before the suspension starts. Motorists should always check that a bay is not suspended before parking. 

If you have a parking permit or a Blue Badge and need to leave your car for several days, you should check each day that the parking bay is not suspended.

Parking bay suspension charges

The following charges apply for booking a parking bay suspension:

• £84.30 non-refundable admin fee
• £48.10 a day for each car space
• £48.10 a day for a waiting restriction dispensation
• £36.10 a day for a resident bay trader’s permit
• £84.30 admin fee for changing dates or cancelling

If you cancel the parking bay suspension more than five days before it starts, you will be refunded the daily charges but not the admin fees. There are no refunds if you cancel less than five days before it starts.
