Public toilets in Southwark

There are 33 public toilets in the borough that we manage and maintain. 

It can be worrying when you need to go, but aren’t sure where you can find a safe and clean toilet. We are making it as easy as possible for you to find and access your local public toilet when you need it. 

We are working on 3 public toilet improvement programmes. These are: 

• maintaining and improving our public toilets
• increasing the number of public toilets
• encouraging local businesses to sign up to our public toilet programme, offering use of their toilets for free without the need to buy something

Local businesses – make your toilets available to all

Many people plan trips to our high streets around toilet availability. These include:

• people with medical conditions
• disabled people
• older residents
• families with young children 

We’re asking businesses to make their toilets available to all, without the need to be paying customers.
