Little Dorrit Park improvement project

We're seeking to make improvements to Little Dorrit Park, a small park located just off Borough High Street near London Bridge Station.

Little Dorrit Park is currently designated as a play area, which means that adults without children are prohibited according to the by-laws. Dogs are also prohibited.

The proposal includes fencing off the play area so everyone can feel welcome in the park.

Play equipment will be improved, and trees will be planted to benefit wildlife and combat the urban heat island effect.

Should funding be sufficient, the project could also include other improvements to the park and the Peace Garden next to Little Dorritt Park.

Consultations

Two public consultations have been carried out. These were held in 2021 and 2022.

Email leisureprojects@southwark.gov.uk for a PDF or paper copy of either report.

The views and ideas of those who responded have been considered, and have influenced the design options for the park.

Next steps

The project was put on hold in 2023 after the Project Manager left the council. Once we have a new Project Manager, the project can restart.
