Learning to sew or developing craft skills can open up a new world of opportunities.
Sewing is a versatile skill, as it's challenging, therapeutic and useful all at the same time. Sew for yourself, for children or your home or sew for others. Keep it as a hobby or branch out into a new career or education path. Use our courses to build confidence in sewing and crafting, and other life skills such as time management or self-assessment.
We have a range of courses to suit all abilities and levels of experience, from absolute beginners to those wanting to develop their sewing techniques. New courses this term include Making Children's Wear and Zero-Waste Garment Making. Learners with some experience can choose our new Pattern Manipulation or Bespoke Pattern Cutting courses. We will support you in making a range of items from bags and cushion covers to clothes from complex patterns, and in repairing and re-styling existing garments to give them new life.
Our £5 materials fee for these courses covers sundry items used in the first few weeks of your course. For your subsequent projects, you must provide your fabric, threads and other relevant materials.
