Led by Artist Associate Kristina Pulejkova, the Digital Storytelling Club is a 4-days workshop where participants are invited to use storytelling by exploring AI generative text and images to reimagine classic myths or create entirely new legends.
Starting with discussing favourite myths or legends, participants will then use AI-powered text and image generation tools to expand the narrative, adding new characters, twists, or alternate endings. This collaborative storytelling will spark creativity and lead to unique, personalised versions of well-known tales. For the visual aspect, the group will use everyday materials that can be found around the home like paper, pens, fabric or even food items such as pulses, vegetables and fruits to create physical textures and collages that represent elements from these imagined stories.
These materials will then be photographed and used as the basis for AI text-to-image generation, where the AI transforms these textures into vivid, imaginative scenes that bring the reinterpreted myths to life. The combination of generative text and text-to-image AI will allow for a deep, multi-sensory exploration of mythology, blending traditional storytelling with modern technology and hands-on creativity.
The end result will be a collaboratively created deck of storytelling cards, which can be used as prompts to imagine new stories and legends. Participants will have the opportunity to personalise these cards with handwritten notes, sketches, or embellishments, turning them into unique, interactive tools for future storytelling. This deck can serve as an ongoing creative resource, encouraging imaginative storytelling, group discussions, and further artistic exploration.
